We founded My Irish Books in 2020 with a simple mission: to make reading in Irish more accessible and enjoyable for children, along with their grown-ups, through the use of technology and innovation.
Our collection of sound books has grown more varied over time. We started out with traditional songs, but now our collection includes songbooks, storybooks, books of verse, and titles celebrating Irish music and dance, as well as unique fluo and silent books.
By including audio narration, our books support children in building reading skills while helping their grown-ups engage with Irish, making shared reading experiences enjoyable and
accessible for all.

Risteard is a teacher, translator and writer. He has written several textbooks for secondary students, most notably the Turas series with Educate.ie. He loves playing music and singing badly – which is why in Mo Chuid Amhráin Ghaeilge we thought it best to leave it to the professionals!
Risteard is committed to the promotion of Irish language and culture and hopes that you will see this reflected in our song books.
Vanessa is our Irish-American multilingual Admin Manager who manages to prop up the company while bringing a unique mix of creativity, passion, and analytical expertise to the role. Not just this but she also doubles as a radio presenter and newsreader!
Prior to this she worked in Depfa Bank as Associate Director in Dublin. Vanessa is a graduate of Boston College with majors in French and International Studies.
Rawand moved from Gaza to Waterford in September 2025. She is currently studying for a Master’s in Construction Project Management. She is very passionate about music, especially singing, and of course engineering and science.
Rawand primarily manages our various projects, with a particular focus on one that will be announced soon.

Tatyana grew up in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and spent much of her early childhood going to the library and listening to stories. She is now based in County Meath, Ireland where she spends a lot of time working on illustrations and new story ideas. She has won numerous awards for her books, including the Waterstone’s Children’s Book Prize and the Kate Greenway Medal.

Emer Ní Scolaí is a 21-year old harpist from Dublin. She is the author of two of our books ‘Mo Chuid Uirlisí Ceoil’ and ‘Mo Chuid Rincí Ceoil’ and plays harp accompaniment on many more.
Her passion for Irish music was instilled in her by her late grandfather, the well-known Clare singer and flute-player Séamus Mac Mathúna. She performs both solo and alongside her two sisters in their exciting up-and-coming band ‘Sult’. Her debut album ‘Aiséirí’ was released in 2025.
Based in Dublin, Ireland, Anne is an accomplished illustrator with a unique flair for storytelling through line, color, and collage.
She is a graduate of Visual Communication from the National College of Art & Design in Dublin and is an active member of both Illustrators Ireland and the AOI (Association of Illustrators).
